How Can You Help Lawyer Zhiyu Hu (Jimmy Hu) for
Edison Council 2011 Election?
EACH VOTE will count and EACH VOTE is very important.
It’s time to end one-party rule in Edison and put a new team of reformers in charge who will hold the line on higher taxes, cut wasteful spending, and restore honest government in Edison.
The key to success is the people’s vote. Edison is home to about 100,000 residents, with close to 30,000 registered voters. This year is a non-presidential election and we expect about one third of voters to cast their votes. So overall, we estimate based on past experience that 12,000 votes will lead to victory.
- Promote the name Zhiyu Hu (Jimmy Hu) and reach out to more people through your networks, organizations, friends, colleagues, workers, teachers, and anyone you can think of (not just limited to Chinese Americans – we’re including every race and ethnic group, for example Indians and Koreans are sizable minority groups in Edison). We need everybody’s support to help increase public awareness, emphasize the importance of joining the electoral process, and elect Jimmy Hu as a representative minority voice. Having representation makes a big difference because Council members make important decisions about Township affairs that affect everyone in town.
- Become a volunteer or recruit volunteers: There are many ways to help the campaign through volunteering. We have shifts available throughout the week and on weekend. Contact us for a spot in the campaign; we welcome your suggestions too!
- Make a donation or help raise donations - no matter how big or small, every amount helps the campaign!

- Help more Edison residents to get registered for voting before Oct 18, 2011, and to cast their votes either in person on Nov. 8, 2011, or vote by mail in advance. EVERY VOTE will count! This is the most important step of all.
Required to register for Edison election:
- US citizen
- 18 years (or older) before the next election on Nov. 8, 2011
- Edison resident for 30 days before the election (upcoming election is Nov 8, 2011, so registering voter must start residing in Edison by October 8)
- Not currently serving a sentence, probation or parole because of a felony conviction

--- Party affiliation is optional
--- Previous affiliation (whether Democrat, Republican, or none at all) sets no restriction on who you can vote for. Please help vote Zhiyu Hu (Jimmy Hu) and his running mates.
--- You can choose to vote by mail in advance if you don’t have time to vote in person on November 8 (Tuesday). Send your ballot early and ensure your vote is counted!
